Page Not Found errors

Hello - I've noticed in the logs since the server migration that we're getting Page Not Found errors from Library of Junk when we click from the 'More' link.  Workaround - click from the heading/Title link, the one on orange, and you'll get where you want to go.  It's happening because spaces in names are being replaced with %20's, not with underscores.

Diffrent Strokes

"What ever gets you through the night..." is a memorable lyric. It is also a truism that gets me into some of the most unpleasant nights in memory when "Whatever" is unavailable. I wish I was a schoolboy for the night when a bit of masturbation would do the trick but those days are long gone.

Joy, Joy, Joy

With the state of the site being a complete mystery I had become somewhat perturbed however I am a man of faith which has again been rewarded. The Tracker can go through another simple trial.

Suboxone Film

I'm just back from my weekly visit to my chemist, picking up my six takeaways.  A sign on the methadone counter tells all customers that they have to move off Suboxone tablets and on to Suboxone Film by 1/9/13. I remember when they moved everyone from Subutex to Suboxone, due to 'misuse' of Suboxone. Seems they're doing a similar thing now, although the chemist tells me it's because the Suboxone tablets had a nasty foaming side-effect? I've never used Suboxone, so I don't know much about it and side effects, but I do know that you could get $800 for a 50 box in prison not too long ago.

The twenty day upgrade

Well, choosing to do the server migration whilst assignments are due and work is busy perhaps wasn't the best moment to perform it, but I guess getting hacked and spammed put me on edge. I think the new box is *somewhat* more secure now, for varying meanings of somewhat. Let me know if you find any bugs, please, this horse is tightly bolted down and no doubt some information will not be as free as it should be.

Tonight's the night

Ok, if you're reading this on Friday August 2nd, you're reading it in the short gap between when I wrote this blog and kicked off the final backup.  Once I've a safe archived copy in a few spots, I will reformat the HDD of the newjunkie server, install teh distro i've chosen, then start learning the command-line interfaces necessary to set up a server and a uni dev box for C dev and  eclipse....

Hacked but functioning

Okay, so I paid teh price for running this site on a Microsoft box.  Last Tuesday a few bots set up user accounts on the site and then proceeded to exploit existing Drupal hoels to take root on the MS box.  Serves me right really.

So teh site will be down for a few days as I wipe the MS install and put a unix flavour on the same box. Better security, and serving is still the raison d'etre for unix, and just a sideline for MS. So hopefully we'll see some other improvements.

When I was twenty

When I was twenty scarcely a fortnight could go by without a song, a movie, or even a well-thought out comment from a friend evoking a strong, honest emotional response.
Now I've travelled forward in time as far again as I had back then, I guess I'm saying I am over forty, just. And it was for the first time in perhaps years that tonight I listened to a song that managed to trigger something in me.
Mountain Goats, Sunset Tree album the first few songs. I've heard them before many times. But I haven't had a shot today and I've had a LOT of shots as of late.

At the doctor

A point of endless speculation and more than a couple of urban myths among doctor shoppers is the surveillance of people on the Program (Methadone/Subutext/Suboxone) who go doctor shopping. At the G.P. seeking advice about my gout and he mentioned pain management; "I use Methyl Salicylate cream topically seems to be as good as anything" I said and added "It is bad at times. Last night I hardly slept".

The Shan's fight for their Rights and Lost Homeland

The Shan State is a land of distant horizons, hills and mountain ranges, blessed with naturally- beautiful surroundings. Its temperate climate made it a very pleasant place to live and explore and, in combination with sufficient amounts of rainfall made the land fertile enough to grow all kinds of food crops.  The inhabitants were made of diverse groups who until 1962, lived together peacefully side by side. The country was economically under-developed but their love of peace and the quietness of the countrys made the majority of citizens happy and contented. They valued their simple lives and freedom more than all the riches and modern development of the world.
