Plumbing the Depths of Wellness #2
Like the irresponsible fool I seem so adept at emulating I always saw an easy solution to the inevitably of a carefree and all too often careless life in the lyric to that iconic song by The Who which went; "Things they do look awful cold, I hope I die before I get old." Repeated over and again to the accompaniment of friends and loud guitars it took up residence in an adolescent mind and failed to dislodge after post adolescence had set in. Life will always make its presence felt even to those who prefer to ignore it, better to go with the flow than risk all in some ultimately feeble attempt to disregard the fate of every animate creature more complex than a jellyfish.
I was at the point where I felt my wellness was pretty well plumbed out until I had a fall and braced myself on my forearm which was wearing a long sleeve shirt and jacket. In the past I would have bounced up with bruises but this time I thought I ws up for skin grafts. Not so, I bought some Melolin dressings and put the skin back where it had been. After some days I went to the beach and saw a piece of Aloe Vera on the footpath which reminded me I have a magnificent specimen at home. Reaching the 'Source of all Miracles' i bathed it and allowed it to dry, out of the direct sun and applied some of the sap from my Aloe and repeated the procedure a few days later.
The 'Related Substance' is of course Aloe Vera but the clean seawater baths and the fruit I force fed myself are all part of the process.
